Makeup Revolution Eyeshadow Palette in the shade Day to Night

I had heard a lot about these palettes and I received one from Habbana as part of their giveaway. I played with it and so here comes the review!

The colours are beautiful, but very tilted towards the blues and blacks. They are all either shimmer or pearlised, so no matte shades there. The pigmentation of some colours like the teal and the black are amazing, while some are not very pigmented and need to be built.

The finish is pretty and smooth and there is a lot of potential for playing with it and experimenting. The brush provided with the palette is very average, can be used as a last resort but don't depend on it. I used my Colorbar brushes with it and at times to pack in more colour, I just used my fingers to pat the colour onto my eyelids.

The powder is not vey loose so it doesn't fly or fall onto your face so thats a plus. They are easy on the pocket, about Rs. 1080 after discount and it's almost always available on discount. What I did not like is actually just one thing- Makeup Revolution palettes have parabens and parabens is a problem. I don't use it very often so I think it's not as harmful, but otherwise, I haven't heard about any problems as such, but be careful is my advice.

Overall, a pretty palette, experimental and affordable with a downside to parabens.
Let me know your thought about this palette!

Much Love,
Jx

Colorbar BB Cream

I am a huge fan of Colorbar cosmetics: the quality is good, price is reasonable and for beginners it's perfect to experiment with.

I don't like applying foundation on a daily basis so I opt for BB Creams. When I heard about CB's BB Cream, I was quite excited to try it out.

Now to make it detailed, I tried the application of the bb cream with a brush, a sponge and without tools. I picked the shade Vanilla Creme and it's a standard Indian tone. A lighter tone called white light is also available, so are darker ones called honey glaze and cinnamon swirl, but I suggest going to a ship, swatching it with your skin and then buying it.

With the brush- the brush eats the cream. The consistency of the cream is runny, like foundation. Most bb creams are more creamy, and thick and blendable. This one is actually more like a light foundation than a bb cream. So I blended it in with my hands first and then used the brush. Still ate a lot of it unless you use more quantity. The cream is like foundation and the colour sort of separates, like you know those matte lipsticks that u need a base otherwise it gets patchy? It's like that. Use a primer.

With a sponge- Ate it. I used my hands to spread it and then used a sponge. That way, it helped and spread much better over the face. However, it still gets a little patchy and I think that's because of the lack of adequate moisturiser in it. Use primer and blend blend blend.

With hands- patchy. It doesn't blend well and gets patchy. Better with primer, still patchy.

I set it with my Mac Studio Fix compact and it just made my face look make-uped, that's the only way I can put it. Bb Cream I feel, is for a more natural look with light coverage, this bb cream is like in between. Plus it smells like foundation.

It stays 5-6 hours and gives you a dewy look when blended well, but otherwise I think this is a fussy BB Cream.

Would I repurchase it?
No. Rs. 550 for a bb cream that is so much work, no.

I'd suggest the maybelline bb cream as it is much easier to apply and blends really

Much Love.

Maybelline Diamond Palette in Topaz Gold

Quite honestly, I wasn't a big fan of this palette when I got it. It doesn't have a matte brown or any matte shades for that matter.

I got this from Habbana as a part of their giveaway and I love the size and packaging. Plastic box, minimal, 5 colours. Perfect to take along while travelling.

The palette consists of 4 shadows and one powder eyeliner. Powder eyeliner does not work for me, so I use it as a pigmented shadow.

The back comes with instructions as to how to use the palette. It also comes with a tiny applicator which is a last-resort applicator, you must depend on your own brushes. I do not recommend a synthetic brush as the shadow specs can fly away and get scattered.

The palette, when I did play with, did turn out to be quite nice! It's moderately pigmented so you can work your way up, the size I absolutely love, the colours are infact really good inspite of the absence of a brown, there is a dark murky gold toned with soft black to substitute it and it stays for about 4-5 hours.

Would I buy it again? I don't know if I'll need to, but would definitely love to try the other colours!

Much love <3
